IHICS - ORIGIN KEY FEATURES

Unique recipes from IHICS Philippines Corporation are used to manufacture the hollow blocks as well as the plaster. The material mixtures basically consists of limestone, rice husks and cement, which are sourced mostly locally.

IHICS – Origin integrates the building skeleton structure into the system itself, so that posts, beams, covers, ring beams, bracings, etc. are integral components of the construction system. Expenditure for formwork material will be mostly eliminated.

The planning follows a simple, uniform grid, which makes it possible to work nearly without cutting and/or scraping of blocks.

The individual interlocking hollow blocks may be arranged against and on top of each other without any mortar. The fixation of the loose blocks take place while cam and recess of their form interlocking

The blocks are significantly lighter with an even improved quality and stability. This makes handling simpler and timesaving. The weight reduction achieved for the walls in turn has a positive effect on the necessary foundation strength, and thus directly and indirectly on the overall costs of the construction.

The steel reinforcement can only be integrated into the hollow blocks at the right place. Either in the horizontal canals of the respective block types or in the vertical cavities resulting from the exact grid.

Where in the building structure a post or ring anchor is integrated the hollow blocks shape a kind of a "lost" formwork, wherein the concrete filling in this area protects the reinforcement. Consequently, the system achieves a high resistance to external influences due to the correct structural-physical application.

Additional insulation against heat, cold or noise can easily be achieved by using the cavities or a double-shell masonry and filling them with insulation materials, preferably rice shells. Most building electrical and sanitary installations can be inserted directly into the system. This eliminates the need for time-consuming work to create the appropriate recesses.

The IHICS-Origin construction system follows the principle of an exposed brickwork and therefore it is in general not necessary to plaster the construction. This is time- & cost-saving during the building phase as well as later in the maintenance of the building.

However, according to demand and discretion an innovative limestone-concrete plastering as a refinement may be applied to the construction. Thanks to the materials used, it is more resistant despite its thin application.

Finally, also coats of paint are thinkable.
