IHICS - ECO PINOY KEY FEATURES

Unique recipes from IHICS Philippines Corporation are used to manufacture the hollow blocks as well as mortar and plaster. The material mixtures basically consists of limestone, rice husks and cement, which are sourced mostly locally.

IHICS – Eco-Pinoy integrates the skeletal building structure into the system itself, in order that posts, beams, covers, ring beams, bracings, etc. are integral components of the construction system. Expenditure for formwork material can be reduced to a minimum.

The planning follows a simple, uniform grid, which makes it possible to work with entire or if needed, simply cutted blocks. The individual hollow blocks can be neatly placed on top of each other and lined up side by side. The blocks interlock while creating solid posts by filling the connecting endings with mortar.

The blocks are of an improved quality and stability, altough they are significantly lighter. This makes their handling simpler and timesaving. The weight reduction achieved for the walls in turn has a positive effect on the necessary foundation strength, and thus directly and indirectly on the overall costs of the construction.

The components shape and structure form a kind of "lost" formwork to protect the reinforcement within the concrete filling. Consequently, the system achieves a high resistance to external influences due to the correct structural-physical application.

The steel reinforcement can only be integrated at the right place into the hollow blocks. Either in the horizontal canals of the blocks or in the vertical cavities because of the exact grid.

Additional insulation against heat, cold or noise can easily be achieved by using the cavities or a double-shell masonry and filling them with insulation materials, preferably rice shells. Most building electrical and sanitary installations can be inserted directly into the system. This eliminates the need for time-consuming work to create the appropriate recesses.

The innovative IHICS plaster adheres better and does not form the frequently observed hairline cracks when drying out. The plaster is simple and easy to apply. Thanks to the materials used, it is more resistant despite its thin application. This has also an additional positive effect on the total weight of the building.
